Snow Much Fun

Pinned Image

I just found this one on Pinterest. Beautiful! I am going to start making 5-10 Christmas cards a month so I don't have such a crunch next year. This one by Bonnie Klass at bon2stamp is a keeper! She used Lovely as a Tree and Snow Much Fun

Top Note Snowman Card

Top Note die, circle punches, Northern Frost strip die

You can make this cute guy using your Top Note die and your Big Shot. It isn't too late to send a snowman card. It hasn't even snowed yet!

Thinking Out of the Box!

I do this with circles. Why didn't I think to do it with shapes?? Great idea!

Butterfly Punch

Some cards don't require much stamping. This one is just our beautiful designer paper called Summer Smooches, the new butterfly punch, the scallop oval punch, and the large oval punch. The words are from Petite Pairs. Don't forget, stamp then punch. It is so much easier than punching then stamping. The butterfly bodies are punched flowers from Itty Bitty Shapes with the Champagne Glimmer Paper. It really makes the butterflies sparkle! (Daffodil Delight and Whisper White)

Snowman Tea Light

This little guy turned out precious! The base is a tea light so his nose lights up. I made a bunch for a craft show. One lady came and bought them all. Quick and cute!

1. Punch a circle from the itty bitty shapes pack then  punch a larger circle around that using the 1-3/8 circle punch.
2. Use a 1/4 punch and basic black paper for the eyes and mouth. It is easier to decorate it before you slide it over the nose.
3. Glue it on the base.
4. His hat is the XL oval punch cut almost in half. The brim is made with the large oval punch by punching once on the edge of the paper then punching above that.
5. Glue the hat and brim together then use the lattice folder and your Big Shot to add the pattern. Glue this on above his eyes.
6. Cut the ball for the hat out of red glimmer paper using the flower from the itty bitty shapes punch pack. Glue it on.
7. Add a red scallop to the back. It has a hole punched out where the light switch is.
8. I used some retired ribbon for his scarf because I like the size and the color. Tie any ribbon around the base.

I got the idea from Inking Idaho. She used the colored pearls for the eyes and nose (I tried this but it was time consuming and messy), and sweater trim for the scarf.

Frosty Friends

I love snowmen. This card is layered like a frame. I used the labels collection framelits and cut out the center of the white, then I embossed it with petals-a-plenty. I cut another frame out of real red. The snowmen are stamped on whisper white and mounted under the two frames (dimensionals hold up the frames off the picture). I used a sahara sand marker and went around the outsides of the snowmen to make them pop out. I colored in with markers. Very cute! Happy Christmas is in More Merry Messages. I put ribbon on everything but this one didn't really need it.

Scentsational Season

I finally have a free minute to play with Scentsational Season. What a cute set of stamps! It has a matching set of Holiday Collection framelits cutters so you don't have to cut out a thing by hand. If you purchase both the set and the framelits you get a discounted bundle price. After I cut out the trees and the gingerbread boys I mounted them with a dimensional. I stamped the sentiment from Sweet Essentials then embossed the background with the dotted folder. The glimmer paper adds just the right amount of sparkle. To cut out the hearts I used the heart on the owl builder punch. The star comes in the framelit set.

Googly Ghouls

Isn't this adorable? I just love Googly Ghouls and the Googly Eyes. I colored the ghouls with markers after stamping them in black classic ink. I punched them out with the extra large oval punch. I added the colored pieces to the black background and ran it through my Big Shot using the spider web folder. Don't forget to stamp the words before you emboss the paper.

Merry Minis

I love the new Merry Minis stamp set and matching punches. This card is really fast and fun. I stamped the three images, then punched them out with the 1 inch square punch. Then I punched the three punches and punched them out with the 1 inch square punch. I used dimensionals (cut in half) to layer these together on top of a punched scallop square. This is a punchy card, lol! Of course I had to use my Big Shot and the petals-a-plenty folder. Happy Christmas comes from More  Merry Messages. Did you get your free ribbon last month? Look how perfect it is on this card! I used whisper white, daffodil delight, gumball green, and real red classic pads and card stock. Happy stamping!

Big Shot Christmas Snow

I know this an an old Big Shot die but I still love it! I cut the flakes out of glossy paper and glued them on. I used my 1/2 inch circle punch and added silver glimmer sparkle. I put fake snow inside then tide a Christmas ribbon around it. I added a Christmas pick with silver sparkles and shiny red balls. I will be selling this at the November 15-17th Craft Fair at Faith Lutheran in Collierville. Come and see me!

Halloween Frame

I have always wanted to make one of these 8 x 10 frames. I spent about 5 hours designing each
2 x 2 1/2 inch "square". Trying to use what I had and what is current was the tricky part. Each frame is slightly different so be sure to lay the "squares" on before you decorate them so you can trim.  I want to make a Christmas one next. Or a winter theme... the list is endless. Make several inserts that can be swapped out and give it as a gift.  I want that gift!

Snow Flurry

I love the new Snow Flurry Big Shot die. For this one I used cherry cobbler and whisper white. I used a little of the cherry tulle between the two snowflakes. Then I added a large pearl to the center. Do you see the tiny dots? I filled a mister with alcohol and added some of the shimmer paint. It really adds a sparkle! It is hard to see but the white has been embossed with the snowflake embossing folder. The words are embossed in white and are from More Merry Messages. I am so ready for some snow!!

Papillon Potpourri

I heard the Papillon Potpourri is one of the most popular new stamp sets. I believe it! It is a gorgeous set. It has a matching punch called Elegant Butterfly that really makes using this set a breeze. Don't you just love Polka Dot Parade DSP? This is daffodil delight. It also comes in real red, pumkin pie, marina mist, old olive, and rich razzleberry.
I hadn't planned to put the bottom scallop strip on but I just couldn't throw it away. I used the Large Scallop edgelit to cut it. That is a must have! I also used my Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Big Shot, scallop square punch, BoHo Blossoms punch, pearls, white satin ribbon, and the 1 inch square punch.
The word set is from Sweet Essentials. Don't forget to stamp BEFORE you run the card stock through your Big Shot.

Happy stamping!

September Scrapbooking

If you didn't come to my September scrapbooking class this is what you missed! We made all three 12 x 12 layouts for only $22. We cut the pumpkins out using the Oval Die (Big Shot). I found the school set at a garage sale for almost nothing. It is a retired Stampin' Up set from years ago. The sports wheel is also retired. We made the star points using the Perfect Pennants Die (Big Shot). I hope you can join us next month. I provide everything. You just show up!

Sunflower

This one turned out really pretty. In person the sunflower is a deeper color. I covered the rubber with daffodil delight ink then took a raspberry ripple marker and made several swipes along the edges of the petals. I stamped that on whisper white card stock. Next, I used the flower from Betsy's Blossoms and stamped it in soft suede. I punched out the middle then punched it using the large scallop punch. I added layers of soft suede between them.

Gently Falling

I am so ready for fall! Memphis has been sizzling for months. This triple layer is really HOT right now. It is so easy. Just cut your three white layers, stack them on top of each other, and stamp. It is okay the the edges doesn't quite stamp because you are going to cover them up with colored layers. I actually used a bit of SNAIL (adhesive) on the back of each layer to hold them still while I stamped. I would suggest starting from the center and stamping out. Better yet, come to my house Sept. 15th and I will show you how to make this card. Class runs from noon until about 4:30 with ladies coming and going all afternoon.
I cut the white layers at 4 x 5 1/4, 3 x 4, 1 3/4 x2 3/4. The green layers are 1/4 inch larger. You can cut them to any size starting with the normal base of 4 1/4 x 5  1/2.

Take Care

Are you looking for a sweet simple set? Take Care is it! For this card I used very vanilla, tempting turquoise, and early espresso card stock. I used markers on the rubber (chocolate chip and old olive) for the branch. I stamped the nest on a vanilla scrap in soft suede, used a chocolate chip marker to highlight some of the twigs, and colored the leaves with an old olive marker. Then I sponged over the nest lightly with soft suede and cut it out. The eggs are embossed in tempting turquoise so they are shiny. I cut them out of course. The nest is mounted on the branch with a dimensional, the eggs are alos mounted on a dimensional. I sponged around the vanilla edge with olive and tied a piece of linen thread in with the olive ribbon. Blessings is stamped in chocolate chip.

Wouldn't this branch look cute with an owl on it? So many possibilities!

Elements of Style

If you like Melon Mambo this is the card for you! All I did was emboss the flowers from Elements of Style and the words from Blessing From Heaven in white. I added strips from the ribbon punch and some white ribbon. The center is actually a separate piece so I could slip the ribbon ends under it. The little butterflies are from the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die and my Big Shot. I added a small rhinestone for some sparkle. Pretty card!

Fabulous Florets

Super easy! I used Fabulous Florets and my Big Shot to create this pretty card. The flower is actually cut out and mounted with a dimensional. The wisteria scallop circle is also mounted with dimensionals. The words are from Loving Thoughts. The colors are Whisper white, Wisteria Wonder, and Lucky Limeade.

Blooming With Kindness

This is one of my favorite cards ever! I wish I could get the camera to capture its true brilliance. Pool Party is the perfect color for this flower. I used a set called Blooming With Kindness. First, I covered the stamp with pool party using the pad. Then I took markers in baja breeze, tempting turquoise, and pacific point and scribbled the color on over the pool party ink. The more color you scribble on the prettier the effect. I stamped this on a whisper white scrap then use the new Floral Frames Framelits and my Big Shot to cut out the layers. I stamped an extra middle to cut out which I mounted on a pool party circle that I punched out. I used the Fan Folder embossing folder to add texture to the background and the flowers. Be sure to stamp your saying BEFORE you run the background through the Big Shot. I stamped mine in Pacific point. The bow is Pool Party Ruffled ribbon held on with a glue dot. There is large pearl in the center. This stamp set is wonderful!

Raining Flowers

I love to layer using dimensionals between the layers. It really makes flowers look so much nicer when you add dimension to them. I used Raining Flowers to make this card. Of course, I used a few punches, my Big Shot, and the dotted embossing folder, too. I love the large pearls for flower centers.

Birthday Layout

I made this birthday layout using Some retired DSP called East Coast Prep and a retired wheel called Cupcakes. Add a few current punches, bright paper, red strip bakers twine, and an alphabet set and look what happens! It is amazing how a little strip of Designer Paper will add so much to your layout. This is one of many layouts we have made at my scrapbooking classes. Come on over and join us!

Snow Flurry Cookie Jar

A new snowflake die!!!!!! Of course that was the first thing I ordered from the new Holiday mini. This one doesn't have a thousand tiny little pieces that need to poked out, either, lol! Since you could see through the jar I used white vinyl for the snowflakes. I was also afraid paper ones would get torn to easily by little fingers. Then I punched silver circles out of our glimmer paper for the centers of the flakes. I used dimensionals to raise them up. There is one flake on the handle made the same way. The practical side of me said this wouldn't have to be just Christmas if it weren't for the red and green ribbon. So..... I tied the 7 inch ribbons onto a ponytail holder and wrapped it around the handle. I can make an all white one for January!  I found the jar at Target. It has been in my closet for over a year waiting to be decorated. Fill this with carmel corn, cookies, candy, etc. and give it as a gift. Cute!!!

You can start ordering from the Stampin' Up! Holiday mini August 1st. Of course if you want to sign up as demonstrator you can get it now. A great starter kit can be yours for only $99. I would love to help you sign up. Contact me and get started today!

Papillon Potpourri

These are 21/2 inch magnetic frames I bought for 25 cents each years ago on clearance at Target. They had some horrible Dine In picture on them. I made my own picture using Papillon Potpourri and Blooming With Kindness. Instead of putting back in the glass I used Crystal Effects on the butterfly and Dazzling Details on the flower. I bent the butterfly wings up and used Multipurpose glue to hold it on. I love our Cello Bags for packaging.

To color the flower, use the Pool Party stamp pad to cover your stamp. Turn it over and use markers to scribble on color in Baja,  Turquoise, and Pacific Point. Really, just scribble it on. The more marker the bolder the flower. I scribbled Dazzling Details over the stamped imagine using just enough to make it sparkle.

To make the butterfly, stamp it with Black Stazon then use markers to color it. I used Chocolate Chip for the body, Turquoise next to the body, Pumpkin Pie around the edges and Turquoise, then filled in with Daffodil. I covered it with Crystal Effects, let it dry for about an hour, then punched it out. The Crystal Effects swirls the colors together as it dries.

Scrapbooking

I love scrapbooking. I have albums full of wonderful pages. Too bad they don't have pictures on them. Someday I will get around to that, lol! These are two out of the three layouts you could have made if you came to my last scrapbooking class.

Summer Silhouettes

I think this has become my new favorite set. It is easy to use and fast. You need it!! This time I teamed it with the Paper Doily die. I only popped out the pieces you could see so it didn't take me long at all to pop out all the pieces on the doily. Use a bamboo scewer and they pop right out.

Elements of Style

I found seven of these paperweights in my craft closet. I bought them two years ago at Hobby Lobby. They had Eagles and Proud To Be American on them. I bought them for 90% off and paid a whopping 99 cents! Can you believe that the 3 inch circle die for the Big Shot which I just got yesterday was the perfect size for the center? The 31/2 circle die was perfect for the felt backing. I have never used my Big Shot for anything but paper. Wow! It cut that felt perfectly. Now I can't wait to see what else it cuts. I am sure there is something in my closet that needs to be cut! I have decided that I am going to set up at a few local craft fairs to attract a few more stampers. This is one of many things I will have for sale. I made a masculine paperweight using Uncharted Territory which is retired. What is in your closet??

Summer Silhouettes Gift Box

My goal today was to use things in my closet that I previously bought to stamp on. I found some retired Stampin' Up! bookmarks, jumbo paper clips, post-it notes, and some wedding favor boxes (bought at the Dollar Tree). I love how it all came together using Summer Silhouettes and Pursuit of Happiness. I had to cover the wedding bells on the box (both sides). For the post-it note pad I made a cover that was 3 x 6 1/2  and scored it at 3 and 3 1/2. I used Red Sticky Tape on the back inside to hold the pad in place. For the jumbo clip I taped a scallop to the back then used two dimensionals to adhere the second scallop to the first one, sandwiching the clip between the scallops. If you don't have any retired bookmarks it would be easy to cut some and use a corner rounder on the edges. I put Dazzling Diamonds on the pink flowers to give everything a pretty sparkle. What a fun little gift for a coworker or favorite teacher!
