Hello, Doily

I finally got this to work. I didn't know there was no vanilla embossing powder. The trick is to stamp it in versamark and emboss with CLEAR powder on vanilla cardstock. Then you take a sponge and swirl color over it. The image just pops right out at you! I tried soft suede and crumb cake but they looked old and dirty. I like bright and happy so I used wisteria wonder ink on the sponge. Can I just say WOW??? I stamped a few of the Delicate Doilies images on it after I did the sponging (some full strength, some stamped off). I just wiped off the embossed image when I was finished to make the images appear to be under the big doily. I tied a piece of vanilla seam binding around it. Still not quite happy I added a cut out from the lace ribbon border punch, and antique brad, and a jewelry tag stamped using a word from Fabulous Phrases. I mounted this on a piece of concord crush cardstock after I rounded all the corners.
We will be making this card this weekend at the stamping class. Come and play with us!

Build a Blossom

The new mini has so many wonderful sets. This flower is so easy to make using the Build a Blossom set and matching Blossom Petals punch. I used marina mist, celery, and whisper white for this card. I used the new framed tulip embossing folder, too. The words are from fabulous phrases. The antique brad makes this card perfect! I built the flower on a large white punched circle first. That made it easy to work with. I used the bone folder to bend the largest petals then stuck it on the card with dimensionals. I also punched a sticky note and then stuck that on my acrylic block. That showed me exactly where to place the rubber on the block so I didn't waste so much paper.
