Scallop Circle Snowman

I made this the same way the previous scallop circle was made (melon mambo, flower fest). I did have to dig up some old ribbon. I needed it to match his earmuffs. I used the paper crimper on a thin piece of black cardstock so I could scrunch and mold it around the top of his head to connect the muffs. The carrot was hand cut. I sponged around everything that isn't black. I added highlights with a white gel pen. I am just trying to beat the Memphis heat. I don't think it has ever been this bad. 109 heat index. I'm melting!!!!

Sets: none
Cardstock: whisper white, basic black, tangerine tango, bashful blue
Ink: pretty in pink, bashful blue, tangerine tango
Accessories: big shot, scallop circle, scallop oval punch, paper crimper, 1/2 and 3/4 circle punches, sponge, dauber (cheeks)blue ribbon, circle ice brad

Scallop Circle Snowman

I am sure that by now you have seen a version of the cute guy. You need to make one. It is really fun. Each one has its own personality. Join a 13/4 circle and a 21/2 circle with a white brad (chin area). The join the 21/2 circle and a 37/8 circle with another brad (on mine it is between the 2nd and 3rd buttons). You are only joining two cirlces each time so he telescopes out. I did sponge the edges of all circles with blue first. I used a white gel pen to add dimension and snow. The snow on the hat is a little tiny piece of the cupcake from the cupcake punch. It just didn't look right with the gel pen. He is adorable!

Big On Christmas Scrapbooking Layout

I wish you could see how the large rhinestones add sparkle to the snowflakes. They make a nice layout spectacular! I popped up the tree with a dimensional and added three tiny rhinestones to it. The snowflakes are from the new Northern Frost Big Shot die. They are wonderful! I used real red, whisper white, and green galore which I bought a few spare packs of just for Christmas. Why did they have to retire such great color? We are making this layout Friday night at our scrapbooking class. Come and join us. You will make three double page layouts for $20. The other two are already posted (turkey and ornament layout). I will be glad to make up a kit for you if you can't make it. Feel free to contact me for details.

Big On Christmas

Oh smart me! This tag is part of my tag class coming up this weekend. I want to show the ladies how they can use the tags on a scrapbook pages or turn them into cards. I used Big On Christmas, stamped the tree again, cut it out, and used a dimensional to pop it up on the other tree. I used celery and red markers to color as well as celery and red card stock. All images were stamped with black stazon first. I added 3 small rhinestones to the top tree. I used white wide grosgrain ribbon and tied it with the narrow red ribbon. For the card base I ran real red cs through the Big Shot using the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder. I cut that down and attached it to a piece of certainly celery cs. Then I used a white gel pen and colored over the dots on the embossing. That took a few minutes but is well worth the effect. The tag is held on the card with the old slit punch. That was it can be taken off and used as a tag or on a scrapbook page by the next person! Clever... too bad we don't sell that punch anynore.
