May favorite color (this week) with my favorite thing- snowflakes! I used the northern frost die with the snow burst embossing folder, and my Big Shot. Team that with marina mist paper, silver glimmer paper, curly cute (word set), white satin ribbon, and the lace edge punch and you have a winner. I also used whisper white as my base, silver embossing powder and versamark, and a dimensional under each snowflake. It makes a perfect Christmas thank you card. You can still purchase the snow burst embossing folder. It has been carried over with the new mini. Yeah!

Northern Frost Glass Block
I love snow. I don't know how I managed to migrate to the south. I was born a Yankee! We rarely get snow here in Memphis and when we do get it, it melts by noon. Sigh.
This time I tried embossing on the glass but it didn't work. So I used the Northern Frost die, my Big Shot, and some glossy cardstock. Picking out those tiny little pieces took some time but after that all I did was use some SNAIL to adhere them, added some rhinestones on and around the flakes, added some mica flakes inside, and tied a marina mist striped ribbon around it. I tried lights inside but you couldn't see the snowflakes when the lights were on. The mica chips are perfect! This really is beautiful. Very peaceful, too.

Glass Ornament
This is so beautiful!! I used a glass ornament with a flat front and attached a snowflake I cut out from the Northern frost die and my Big Shot. The silver glimmer paper is gorgeous! I punched little 1/4 inch circles out of the leftover glimmer paper from the snowflake and attached them all around. Inside are some micha chips from the current mini. I tied ribbons around the top, one satin and one organdy. The trick to this was NOT to use glue. It slid all around. I actually used SNAIL to attach the glimmer pieces. I added a small rhinestone to the middle of the snowflake. It does take a bit of time to pop out the pieces of the snowflake but it is worth it.
Come on over this weekend and make one. Class times are Saturday at 1:00 and Sunday at 2:00. RSVP so I can have a kit ready for you.

Snowflake Pop Up Card
I have discovered the world of pop up cards. They are so fun to make! This one pops out on the right and left instead of just the middle. On the last picture you can see that I cut a scallop square (scallop square duo), folded it in half, then snipped it twice on an angle on the left of the center and again on the right of the center. You push the snips out in the opposite direction of the fold then tape this to the inside of the card. The angles let your pop ups stick out over the card edges when open but still fold to the center of the card for mailing. The swirls and snowflakes really come alive. I did all white on white for a challenge with the Late Night Stampers group. If you don't have a Big Shot yet this card will really push you to order one. You can have a class or a catalog party and earn one for half price. Let me know if you want more details on how to get your very own Big Shot. Christmas is coming!!

Big On Christmas Scrapbooking Layout
I wish you could see how the large rhinestones add sparkle to the snowflakes. They make a nice layout spectacular! I popped up the tree with a dimensional and added three tiny rhinestones to it. The snowflakes are from the new Northern Frost Big Shot die. They are wonderful! I used real red, whisper white, and green galore which I bought a few spare packs of just for Christmas. Why did they have to retire such great color? We are making this layout Friday night at our scrapbooking class. Come and join us. You will make three double page layouts for $20. The other two are already posted (turkey and ornament layout). I will be glad to make up a kit for you if you can't make it. Feel free to contact me for details.
