Just Believe

Once I got this one figured out it was easy. I learned that post-it notes are my friend. The planter is
2-3/4 x 1-1/2 on 1-1/2 x 3 on whisper white card stock. I had to stamp the leaves upside down on the planter which was easy. Getting the flowers inside the planter was the hard part I kept guessing and getting it wrong. I finally took three post-it notes and made an outline of where the planter was going (U shape at the bottom of the card). Once I blocked off the areas I did not want leaves it was easy. I used two shades of green to get depth. I added the flowers for color. The planter is on with dimensionals. I did have to take a green marker and color in the leaves that hang down on the bottom of the planter. The ink wouldn't cover just below the line where the lip and the bottom planter meet. Petite Pairs is perfect for this card because it has words to stamp on the inside.

Sunflower

Yes, again with the Sunflower stamp! On a previous post I told you how to color this giant sunflower. Then I cut it into four parts. This is what it looks like whole. The trick is to use lots of color. Even the center is shaded. Too much of one color is overpowering and makes it look weird and chunky. The sunflower on the right has a few swipes of green added to the petals to match the card stock. Isn't it a beautiful stamp?

Sunflower

After buying this stamp months ago I am finally playing with it. Can I just say WOW? It took a few times playing around with coloring but it is really easy.

I used a Daffodil classic pad and covered the rubber of the entire flower. Then I took a So Saffron marker and made swipes over several of the petals (not coloring in, just long lines of color from the petal bottom to the petal top) . I did this again using a Daffodil marker. Next, I took a Pumpkin Pie marker and did it again but I did a lot less swiping with it. It is just for highlights.  For the center I colored in the outside center with a Soft Suede marker and the inside with a Chocolate Chip marker. I did a lot of huffing on the ink then stamped it on Whisper White. I pressed hard to get the color onto the paper.

I cut the flower into four sections (2-1/2 x 2-1/2). Then I went around the edge of the stamped flower with a Bashful Blue marker (left) or a Baja Breeze marker (right). The words are stamped in Chocolate Chip. Bashful looks a bit more girly, but Baja made it look more masculine. You know how hard it is to design for men!

Of course I had to texture everything with my Big Shot. The sunflower is mounted on using dimensionals.

Simply Sent Create and Keep Cards

Here are the cards I made using the Simply Sent Create and Keep kit. See my previous post for the details including what else I used to make these cards. Don't forget that you can assemble the cards without using any other supplies. They were meant to be simple!

Simply Sent Create and Keep

Have you seen this Simply Sent in the occasions mini yet? It is on page 42. It comes with a box ready to assemble, 10 card bases with envelopes, two sheets of die cut stickers, and  four dividers. I like to jazz things up so I added a few punches, some ribbon, some card stock scraps, brads,  and a stamp set. I put all this together in just a few hours. I did the creating so all you have to do is copy them now. Go for it! You will have a great gift to give away or 10 cards to send to people.

I will take pictures of each card and post them next. I did a little cutting on some of the stickers to get them to do what I wanted. I needed the stems to be a little longer on a few cards so I took the leftover pieces around the flowers and cut skinny stems that have ends hidden under ribbon, etc. I used all but 2 stickers!
