Aviary

This is one of my favorite sets in the new catalog. For this one I used Pair Pizzazz, Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, and Poppy Parade. I stamped the cages in black Stazon, stamped the birds over the cages, then added some of the Rhinestone bling just to add a little sparkle.Wish Big comes from Word Play. I used markers on the rubber to get the multicolor effect. I love the Daffodil bird standing on the B. I added a pewter Jumbo Eyelet on the side and threaded the Pear Pizzaz ribbon through it. I used the Ticket Corner punch on the layers. I had to start this card over more times than I wish to admit because the black Stazon kept smearing so be careful.

BECAUSE I CARE

Easy! Easy! Easy! I started with a Marina Mist base then I stamped the words using Curly Cute with Marina Mist Classic ink on Whisper White. Next, I ran that through the Big Shot with the Dotted embossing folder. I used the Corner Rounder on all pieces of cardstock. I added Marina Mist ribbon just before I taped that down. Then I used the Marina Mist and Certainly Celery markers and colored directly on the rubber, gave it a good huff, then stamped the image. Don't forget to press down a little harder in the middle of this stamp or the image won't come out all the way. I put this on a Marina Mist background and used Dimensionals to stick it down over the ribbon. I added a bow using a Glue Dot. This would be pretty in lots of colors... just make sure you have the matching ribbon!

A FLOWER FOR ALL SEASONS

I have been so busy with classes that I have not had time to create anything to post! I have enjoyed playing for the last few hours. I love sunflowers so A Flower For All Seasons is one of my favorite sets. I used Curly Cute which I think will be one of my favorite word sets. The base is Daffodil Delight. I stamped the images with black StazOn because I love the crisp clear images it makes. I used markers to color (Daffodil, Celery, Poppy Parade, More Mustard, and Bashful Blue), and the Corner Rounder just for fun. I used a small piece of the Poppy Parade Designer Paper at the bottom. Did you know you get 8 printed sheets of each color in the new paper pack? Stamping on DSP is a great little touch, too. I used the Poppy Parade ribbon to finish it off.

Vintage Vogue Butterflies

I am resisting the urge to put pearls on the butterlfies and flowers on this card. First, I stamped the floral vine from Vintage Vogue with Certainly Celery along the bottom right and top left. To make the fence posts, I used the Word Window Punch (4 posts) and Whisper White Card Stock. The bottoms are just taped down but the tops have a Dimensional under them. Then I taped a 1/4 inch Whisper White strip across them. I stamped the vine again with Certainly Celery on top of  the posts to give them that "growing on the post" look. I added two Pretty in Pink flowers that I cut out from Vintage Vogue using Dimensionals (curl up the petals, too).  After I added another flower on the top left, I stamped a saying in the middle with Pretty in Pink. I cut the butterflies out using my Big Shot and the Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die in Bashful Blue and scattered them around the saying (pull up their wings to give them a 3-D look). I layered this on Pretty in Pink then on a Certainly Celery base. Go ahead and add the Pearls to the flowers and the butterflies!

Big Shot Daisies

I made these daisies using the Big Shot and the Daisy Flower Bigz Die. Punch out two of each size and glue each set together. Then glue each set layered together to form the flower. Put the flower in the palm of your hand and press down in the middle.  As the glue dries the flower will hold this popped out shape. Add a center to each flower. For the stems I wrapped a 1/4 strip of Certainly Celery Card Stock around a bamboo stick made for grilling. I found an old cookie tin and wrapped it with some YoYo Yellow Card Stock that I crimped. I added the Island Oasis DSP and a Tempting Turquoise ribbon. The grass is more Certainly Celery Card Stock that I put through the crimper. I do miss YoYo Yellow and Only Orange. Melon Mambo and Tempting Turquoise are still around though! Now you can use Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight which are wonderful colors.

VINTAGE VOUGUE

One of the things that makes this card so pretty is the shine. After I embossed the Whisper White Card Stock using the Big Shot and the Petals-A-Plenty folder,  I went over the dots with a Daffodil  Delight marker. Then I used a Dauber and a bit of White Shimmer Paint on top of each flower. It only took a minute and the shimmer effect is beautiful! The flowers are from Vintage Vogue with a Circle Fire Brad in the center of each,  popped up with a Dimensional. I cut the Certainly Celery leaves using the Big Shot and the Little Leaves Die. I sponged around the saying from On Your Birthday,  punched with the Extra Large Oval Punch,  and used a dimensional to pop it up.

If  you want to create the oval in the center of the embossing it is pretty simple if you follow this layering technique: top of the platform (close all tabs), cardboard oval frame, folder with the card stock inside, then 1 cutting pad. To make the oval I cut an oval using the Oval Scallop Frame Die out of card stock. Using the center oval,  I traced it onto the center of a piece of 41/4x51/2 cardboard (from a Designer Series Paper package) and cut it out by hand. This will work with any Stampin' UP! embossing folder.

SIMPLY SAID

Even though this set has been around for a long time, I still love it. The tiny bows between the hearts make this card beautiful. I used the Jumbo Texture Wheel on the Pretty in Pink base with Pretty in Pink Classic ink, then I stamped the saying with Black Staz On. I use Staz on for almost all of my black stamping because it leaves nice sharp color. I wrapped the pink taffeta ribbon around the Certainly Celery Card Stock and taped it on the back, then I attached this to the card. I stamped the hearts on Whisper White and colored them with Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery Markers. I layered them on Celery and Pink, then attached them to Celery Card Stock over the ribbon. I used Glue Dots to attach the tiny bows. Last I added 3 Certainly Celery Brads using the Mat Pack.

CHEERS TO YOU

My scrapbookers talked me into buying this set so I could make a camping scrapbook pages for the next class. I haven't done the pages yet but I love this card! The secret is to cut the handle off the mug on the right and move it to the other side! I love the glitter for the foam. His head is popped up, too. I used UNDER THE STARS and CHEERS TO YOU to make this card. I stamped the bear on WHISPER WHITE CARD STOCK (stamp his head to cut out, too). I colored him using the AQUA PAINTER with CRUMB CAKE and CHOCOLATE CHIP CLASSIC INK. I stamped the beer mugs from CHEERS TO YOU and colored them with a DAFFODIL DELIGHT MARKER. Move the handle on one mug, tape them on to his hands. Use a DIMENSIONAL to pop up his head. Layer this on CHOCOLATE CHIP AND REAL RED CARD STOCK.  Cut a piece of REAL RED DESIGNER PAPER to add to the REAL RED card base. I used DIMENSIONALS  to pop up the stamped layer. Stamp CHEERS TO YOU in CHOCOLATE CHIP. Layer that on circles (13/8, 11/4, 1) and pop it up under the bear. Don't forget to add GLITTER to the foam using the MULTIPURPOSE LIQUID GLUE. What a great guy card!!

JUST BELIEVE

This card was really fast! We sponged over a template made from the CIRLCES #2 and the BIG SHOT in DAFFODIL DELIGHT, PRETTY IN PINK, and  CELERY CLASSIC INKS. Then we stamped the flowers from JUST BELIEVE in CELERY and thank you in CLASSIC BLACK over that. We mounted that on EARLY ESPRESSO and OLD OLIVE CARDSTOCK layers. This was then mounted on a PRETTY AND PINK base and tied with some EARLY ESPRESSO WIDE SATIN RIBBON. We stamped more flowers with VERSAMARK under the ribbon. We added three PEARLS in the center of the leaves on the circle. The cirlce template can be used over and over since we cut it out of cardboard.

TO DIE FOR

This is quick and easy tag to make. Stamp the HOMEMADE tag in MELON MAMBO CLASSIC INK then punch it out using the new EXTRA LARGE SCALLOP CIRCLE punch. Add 3 BASIC RHINESTONE JEWELS (you can pick these up easily using the sharp points of your snips) to the tops of the cupcakes. Punch a hole at the top of the tag, slide your ribbon through and add it to your CELLO BAG with a treat in it. It is ready to give to a deserving friend!

TROPICAL TOTE

I made this note card holder using Stampin' Up! products from the summer mini. I covered two of the ON BOARD BOOKS BRIEFCASES with some of the ISLAND OASIS DESIGNER SERIES PAPER using the ANYWHERE GLUE STICK. Then I added some of the 5/8 GROSGRAIN RIBBON to the front. I cut and folded a box out of TURQUOISE CARD STOCK (cut 9x71/2, score the long sides at 1 and the short sides at 4 and 5) and taped it between the covered chipboard. Next I used more of the designer paper and the matching stamp set called TROPICAL PARTY to make the cards and envelopes and to decorate the front of the tote. I used the CLASSIC NOTE CARDS from the main catalog for this project.
