Raining Flowers

This is one of my cards that was published in the August Stampin'  Success magazine. Only Stampin' Up! demonstrators can see the magazine so I will post my projects here for everyone to see. I was sworn to secrecy until the magazine came out. It was a huge honor to be asked to create for the magazine. Of course when I got Raining Flowers in the mail my mind went blank. In the end I was very pleased with what I came up with. This card uses the stair step fold and lots of cutting out. I used the big shot to texture the background. Dimensionals hold are holding up the layers.

Pennant Parade Christmas

Merry Christmas! Just kidding, but it is time to start thinking about your Christmas cards. This one takes some time but it really is a great card. I tried stamping the tree bottoms on the circle but in the end it was easier to cut them out so I could place them exactly where I wanted them. If you want to do multiples of this card I would use the jig. Do you see the new lace punch? I cut the circles out and mounted them around the white circle just to be different. The white circle is a 3 inch circle. I used the new striped embossing folder on the bottom of the card (just taped it right over the dotted part). The trees are all on with dimensionals, so is the entire big circle area. You need to stamp Merry Christmas before you run the paper through your Big Shot. I colored the triangles with a versamark pen then embossed them with iridescent ice before I cut them out. They really sparkle. I got to use the new ruffled ribbon. Love it!!

Nature Walk Butterfly Card

As usual, this is the fourth attempt at this card. My advice to new stampers is find something you like and copy it exactly. The more you try to change the longer it takes. I almost tossed the entire card! 2 hours later...

Sets: Nature Walk, Curvy Verses
Cardstock: tempting turquoise, very vanilla
Ink: black stazon, tempting turquoise, not quite navy, crumb cake
Accessories: sponge, vanilla narrow grosgrain ribbon, big shot, framed tulips and dotted embossing folders, crystal effects, markers in tempting turquoise and old olive, blender pen

I sponged around every edge in crumb cake to give it an aged look. I used a blender pen on the ink pad to color the butterfly. Then I covered the butterfly with crystal effects. I decided to leave the paper sideways after I dropped it and it landed like that. It gave the card a very interesting look. I used marker on rubber to do the flowers. After several attempts this card really did turn out beautiful. And not a drop of pink on it!

Word Play Butterfly Card

I am still on the butterfly theme. This time I used our butterfly punch. Before I punched out the vellum butterfly I ran the vellum through the Big Shot using the dotted folder. What a great effect! I sponged the edges of all the cardstock pieces with pink. It helps soften the paper. I used wire to make the butterfly antenna because it sparkles. The butterfly is mounted with dimensionals. The vellum wings are bent up.

Best Dad Ever

I love this set! It is in the summer mini right now. The ties are wonderful. The first time I did it all in black and white for my husband the architect. He loves black and white and grids. My mom told me to change one tie to red so I did the second card for her. Thanks, Mom! All I did was do the whole thing in black then did an extra set of ties in red, then I cut one out and taped it on top of the black. I can use the rest of the red ties on other projects. The other words to choose from in the set are THINKING OF YOU, BEST DAD EVER, AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY. You need this set if you have men in your life!

Rockabilly Scrapbook Pages

I sponged around the edges of the olive scallop circle and the hearts. After I assembled the white flowers I used a the eraser end and pushed them into the palm of my hand. This makes the edges pop up.

Daisy Mother's Day Card

This was the Mother's Day card I made for my wonderful mom, my grandmother, and my sister. I used the daisy Big Shot die, little leaves die, boho punch, oval punch, scallop punch, dotted embossing folder, beautiful butterfly die, teeny tiny wishes, glimmer brads, and god's blessings. It turned out gorgeous!! It won't fit in an envelope but that didn't matter. I love the daisy die. The color combination is great. I used mambo, turquoise, daffodil, celery, chocolate chip, and white. Sorry I haven't posted lately. I have been getting things together for the Stampn' Success magazine article. That has turned out to be quite a challenge.  

A Good Egg

Happy Easter! I used A Good Egg to make this adorable card. I stamped everything in black stazon, colored the egg dots with markers (pretty in pink, certainly celery, rose red, and bashful blue), then I used an aqua painter and a daffodil pad to color the chicks. The flowers are from the boho punch. They get the cool 3-D effect if you poke them into your palm with the eraser end of a pencil after you punch them out. I added a large pearl to each flower center. I punched Happy Easter out with the medium oval, sponged the edge with pink, and then I added a scallop oval layer behind it using celery. The base is daffodil textured by using the dotted folder and my Big Shot. After I assembled the entire card I added crystal effects over each egg. I love that shiny look. Sounds easy, doesn't it. Try it!

Nature Walk

Sometimes simple turns out to be beautiful! This card came together in minutes. Nothing fancy, just some stamps and my Big Shot. The flower stamp is from Nature Walk. I used markers on the rubber- pear pizzazz, daffodil delight, rose red, and tempting turquoise. The white card base is embossed with the dotted folder. I used the scallop trim border on daffodil cardstock, and tied it with daffodil striped ribbon. I didn't do a fat bow because that makes it so hard to mail. This one fits in an envelope. I did add three tiny butterflies from the beautiful wings embosslits die.I added a tiny pearl to each one. The inside is also really pretty. I just stamped the flowers again. The saying comes from All Holidays.

Black and White Butterflies

I am still playing with my new Big Shot die called Beautiful Butterflies. This card took minutes to make. I backed it with black so I could write in it (of course I laid it on black for the picture- sorry). I trimmed the white base to fit on the black then I embossed it with the elegant bouquet folder. I cut out the two smallest butterflies and embossed the white one with the dotted folder. I attached them together and bent their wings around a pencil slightly. They are attached to the card with a dimensional. I used Curvy Verses and some rhinestones to finish it.

Baby Blossoms

You can make this card using baby blossoms from the spring mini. The base is marina mist. I used my Big Shot and the dotted embossing folder on the white layer. Then I added another layer of marina mist punched with the scallop edge punch, white cs, and marina mist ribbon. I love how Stampin' Up has paper, ribbon, markers, and ink that all match! Next I did all the stamping using marina mist, rose red, and pretty in pink. I cut some leaves using the little leaves die and my Big Shot. There is actually two layers of the frame. The bottom layer has the words from occasional quotes. I punched the oval out of the top frame and layered them together using dimensionals.

Petal Pizzazz

Pretty colors! I used daffodil delight and melon mambo for this one. I even used some of the striped ribbon which I buy and never use. The Petal Pizzazz pink flowers were stamped then punched out. The daffodil flower and the leaf were hand cut. They are all on the white embossed background with dimensionals. The saying is from Occasional Quotes which is  a hostess set. I can help you earn this set if you would like to hostess a class. I corner rounded two corners to get the cool look around the saying. I also used the scallop punch for the mambo trim. I love all of my toys!

Valentine Defined Cards

I made these two cards using Valentine Defined. I love the little stretch of hearts. I stamped them in real red then colored over a few of them in pretty in pink. The top one has some punched hearts using the triple heart punch. I put a little crystal effects on the heart on the bottom card to make it pop. I cannot live without my Big Shot. I used the dotted folder and the new framed tulip folder for these cards. I also used Teeny Tiny Wishes, the scallop oval punch, and the two smallest oval punches. Of course I had to add ribbon. I just realized I did not use any rhinestones or pearls. I must be getting sick, lol!

Big Shot Daisy Card

I think I should have asked Santa for a new camera. The card pictures just don't show the true colors. This one is truly gorgeous in person. The base is whisper white and run through the Big Shot using the dotted folder about half way up . I tied the ribbon around the card, added two celery leaves using the little leaves die,  and two flowers from the daisy die. I used a blue circle brad in the center of the flowers. I used Curvy Verses and black stazon for the words.

Beautiful Wings

I hope Santa brought you a Big Shot. I can't believe that when it first came out in the Stampin' Up! catalog  I said I didn't want it. I love everything it does. This time I used the dotted embossing folder, the beautiful wings embosslits die, and the scallop rectangle clearlits die. This was simple card to make using whisper white, pretty in pink, certainly celery, and bashful blue. Thinking of you came from Curly Cute. Don't forget to stamp before you run the paper through your Big Shot.

Lovely as a Tree

This card turned out beautiful and is pretty easy to make. I ran the white base through the Big Shot using the dotted embossing folder. Then I ran another piece of white through using the scallop oval die. On the center part of the oval I stamped 3 trees in garden green. Then I made a hill mask out of paper, laid it over the trees, then stamped four more trees. That made the snowy look. I used a dauber and bashful blue ink to add the sky. That makes the snow really pop. I add the holes to the scallop ring and used a glimmer brad from the basic pack to add the punched snowflake. I attached the scalloped ring using dimensionals. Then I set the stamped middle part in (exact fit) with tape. Very Merry came from Short and Sweet. It is stamped and sponged in garden green and mounted on a red scalloped oval. One of my stampers told me to add some sparkle to the trees. That would be perfect!

BECAUSE I CARE

Easy! Easy! Easy! I started with a Marina Mist base then I stamped the words using Curly Cute with Marina Mist Classic ink on Whisper White. Next, I ran that through the Big Shot with the Dotted embossing folder. I used the Corner Rounder on all pieces of cardstock. I added Marina Mist ribbon just before I taped that down. Then I used the Marina Mist and Certainly Celery markers and colored directly on the rubber, gave it a good huff, then stamped the image. Don't forget to press down a little harder in the middle of this stamp or the image won't come out all the way. I put this on a Marina Mist background and used Dimensionals to stick it down over the ribbon. I added a bow using a Glue Dot. This would be pretty in lots of colors... just make sure you have the matching ribbon!
